Vessel stand in the form of a lion foot standing on a sphere. The upper ending is shaped like a Gorgon head framed by two snakes. The Gorgon is depicted with protruding tongue, intense facial features and large ears. The tongue that sticks out may insinuate that Medusa is dead while the snakes that frame her head might be part of her hair.

This stand probably comes from a lebes or some other bowl-shaped vessel.
