Can I book a combined ticket for my visit to the Acropolis Museum and the Acropolis site?

The Museum's ticket is independent from the ticket to the Acropolis and other associated archaeological sites.

You can acquire general admission tickets either from the Museum’s Ticket Desk or via the e-ticketing service. Reduced admission and free admission tickets can be obtained exclusively from the Museum Ticket Desk, provided that visitors present the necessary eligibility documents.

Can I purchase a ticket with my credit card?

Yes, you can purchase a ticket with either cash or a credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Maestro, UnionPay).

Can I visit the Museum again on another day using the same ticket?

No, tickets are one-use only and valid only for the date for which they are issued.

A visit at the Museum

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not allowed inside the Museum. Use of guide-dogs to accompany visitors with disabilities is permitted.

Does the Museum have a cloakroom, where I can leave my personal belongings?

The Museum has two cloakrooms, one for the service of independent visitors and one for group visits. Both are located on the Museum’s ground floor, where visitors are requested to leave backpacks and other bulky items. The Museum is not responsible for fragile or valuable objects left in the cloakroom.

Is there a security check for bags carried into the Museum?

Yes, there is a security check-point with an X-ray scanner at the Museum’s entrance. For this reason, it is recommended that visitors avoid bringing large bags or backpacks to the Museum.

Photos

Is photography allowed in the Museum?

Amateur photography and filming is permitted in all areas of the Museum, except the Archaic Acropolis Gallery. The use of flash and additional professional equipment such as portable lights and tripod, is not allowed inside the Museum. The publishing of material in print or electronic media by professional photographers is accepted only with the Museum's written authorization.

Does the Museum have Wi-Fi?

Free access to the Museum’s wireless network is available in all public areas of the building.
