It was found in 1957 in the east Roman cistern on the south slope of the Acropolis. It is mended from fragments and restored. The ovoid body rests on a disc-foot and the cylindrical neck is topped with outturned rim. Grooves run around the body.

Unguentaria were used for holding and transporting perfume oils as well as various other liquids and solids, such as honey, mastic and spices.
