Intact fusiform unguentarium found in 1960 on the Acropolis south slope. It has a low foot and flat base. The neck is cylindrical with overhanging rim. The grey surface is decorated with horizontal white bands.

Unguentaria were used for holding and transporting perfume oils as well as various other liquids and solids, such as honey, mastic and spices. Very often fusiform unguentaria were wrapped in wicker mesh that protected them from breaking and their lid was probably made of some perishable material, like wax or cork.
