Bibliography

Black-glazed Attic type skyphos mended from many fragments and restored. It was found in 1959 on the south slope of the Acropolis.

It is ring-based and the body’s lowest part is very narrow and becomes wider towards the top. The rim is outturned and the handles horizontal. It is covered in black paint except for a narrow band left in the colour of the clay on the base’s underside.

It was most possibly used during some foundation ritual.
