Bibliography

Black-glazed saltcellar, mended from two fragments. It was found in 1956 on the south slope of the Acropolis.

It is ring-based with shallow body, the wall of which curves inwards. The whole pot is covered in glaze that varies from black to red-brown except for a band at the joint between the base and body that remains in the colour of the clay. The vessel’s underside is also left in the colour of the clay and decorated with concentric black circles around a central dot.
