Bibliography

Shallow plate mended from many fragments and restored. It was found in 1956 on the south slope of the Acropolis. It is ring-based and the body walls curve upwards. The pot bears bright orange-red lustrous gloss and on the floor centre within inscribed concentric circles a rectangular stamp contains the letters LTIOP. The vessel’s underside retains the inscription MA.

The pot was made in Italy and therefore belongs to the class of Italian sigillata.
