Lowest left part of a seat. It was found on the south slope of the Acropolis and possibly comes from the Odeion of Perikles. Its front is adorned with a relief owl of the Athena noctua type with folded wings.

The owl was Athena's sacred bird and thus symbol of both the goddess and the city of Athens, which explains why it was chosen to decorate a public building, such as the Odeion of Perikles. By the excavations conducted at the Odeion, as well as among older stray finds, about fifteen fragmentarily preserved seats adorned similarly have been retrieved.
