Bibliography

Lowest left corner of a relief that retains part of a female figure’s legs. The woman dressed in a long chiton that creates dense folds between her limbs walks to the viewer’s left. Traces of red paint are retained on the chiton’s hem and blue paint on the relief’s field.

It has been proposed that the figure is Athena Promachos who would have held a spear and shield. The marked fire traces are most possibly the result of the Acropolis destruction by the Persians in 480 BC.
