Bibliography

Left part of a plaque decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 at the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments and was reassembled.

It probably depicts a ceremonial procession. On the right a man dressed in chiton and himation turns his head towards two women who are following him. The women wear long, richly decorated, belted peplos. The first one is holding a wreath and a round object, most likely a fruit, while the second one a lotus flower and a branch. The scene is framed by a thin line and on the upper left corner, one of the two holes used for its suspension on a wall, tree or somewhere else survives.
