Part of a loutrophoros-hydria vase decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 at the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in many fragments that were pieced together and partially restored.

The decoration on the vessel’s body is organised in zones. Three wider zones cover the shoulder and the biggest part of the loutrophoros’ body. These are decorated with depictions of animals and imaginary beings such as facing lions, Sirens and panthers alternating with unicorn, boar, goat, lion and horse’s bust. Scattered rosettes fill the empty space around them. Thinner bands with floral and geometric motifs followed by rays cover the lower part of the vessel’s body.
