Part of a loutrophoros decorated in the red-figure technique. It was found in many fragments in 1955 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe, was pieced together and restored.

On the vase’s neck a procession is depicted. It presents probably a loutrophoria with two women and a flute player. The body of the vase is decorated with the bride’s transportation to the groom’s house. The gods, whose presence elevates the wedding’s status and highlights its sanctity, are escorting the procession. The groom boards the quadriga the bride is already on. In front of the chariot, Hermes with winged sandals and a caduceus oversees everything in his role as the proegetes. Behind the couple the winged goddess Iris follows holding her scepter, while a second fragmentary figure is standing next to the horses. In front of the chariot the inscription KAΛOΣ, meaning beautiful, probably refers to the groom.
