Part of a loutrophoros' body decorated in the red-figure technique. It was found in 1955 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments, was reassembled and restored.

It presents the wedding scene with the gesture of revealing. The bride is still fully enveloped in her veil which the nympheutria is about to pull according to the ritual. The groom holds her by the wrist to lead her to his paternal home. This is the typical wedding gesture that signifies the passage of the bride’s guardianship from her father to the groom. Behind the nympheutria the bride’s mother follows, holding a torch. The torch was lit from her house’s hearth whose fire will protect her daughter on the way to her new house.
