Part of the feet belonging to a female statue, probably a Kore, set on the base’s capital. The capital was found in 1877 near the Erechtheion but there is no information regarding the feet.

From the statue, only part of the extremity of the left foot without the heal, has survived, as well as small part of the right foot’s extremity. The figure, wearing sandals with painted red straps, is projecting her left foot. The statue’s plinth was secured with molted lead in the especially shaped socket on the capital’s upper surface.

The rounded capital, pieced together out of two fragments, is decorated with a painted chain of reversed palmettes alternating red and blue or green colour. Lotus flowers spring upwards from the palmettes. On the abacus an inscription is carved in three lines stating: ΣΙΜΟΝ ΑΝ[ΕΘΕΚΕ] Ο ΚΝAΦΕΥΣ [– – – –] ΔEKATEN meaning “the textile worker Simon dedicated the statue as a tithe”.

A base in the form of an un-fluted column, kept in the Epigraphical Museum of Athens (EM 6248) has been associated with this capital. The column retains an inscription mentioning: ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΟΣ ΕΠ[ΟΙΕΣΕΝ] which means “Eleutheros made” (the statue).
