Part of a handmade ox figurine. Its precise find spot on the Acropolis remains unspecified. The hind legs as well as its tail are missing. The animal has a long, tubular body covered in vertical dense lines in brown-black colour.
Ox figurines of this type are frequently retrieved at sanctuaries and are considered to symbolise fertility and agricultural life. On the Acropolis they were most possibly dedications made by individuals to the Mycenean fertility goddess, perhaps Athena.
