The first temporary exhibition of the Acropolis Museum 'Pericles, Son of Xanthippos' was mounted in the Museum foyer, prior to entry to the permanent collection, from 20 June 2010 to 31 January 2011. The exhibition presented a small number of highly significant archaeological exhibits, including a portrait of Pericles, marble reliefs, inscriptions, coins, and remuneration tokens. The exhibition provided insights into the actions and personality of the prominent and influential statesman Pericles (c. 495-429 BC). Read more.
