Loutrophoros-hydria decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments and was pieced together and restored.

On the neck of the vase a procession of seven women, whose face is rendered with added white colour, is depicted. One of them holds in her raised hand a wreath, symbol of the prosperity and fertility that would accompany the newlyweds. The scene is framed above and beneath by a narrow band of floral motifs. On the vase’s body the decoration is organised in horizontal zones. The upper one depicts two pairs of opposing lions, birds and Sirens under the handles, while the second zone is decorated with Sphinx, Sirens and feline that alternate. Between these figures, floral ornaments intervene. The lower part of the loutrophoros’ body is covered with rays.
