Lid of an incense burner (thymiaterion) mended from fragments and restored. It was found in 1956 in cistern 14 on the south slope of the Acropolis.

It is bell-shaped and elaborately adorned. Four twisted handles are arranged around a relief rose, and flowers, Satyrs' and Maenads' masks decorate the zone beneath the handles. The incense smoke poured out of the round holes. All over the surface are preserved traces of white slip. The lid probably comes from a house shrine.
