Lekythos decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 at the Sanctuary of the Nymphe.The handle is missing and part of the foot has been filled in.

On the vase’s body, over a white background, a scene from the Gigantomachy is depicted, a theme popular in Athens during the Archaic and Classical period. Here, the goddess Athena is portrayed between two Giants holding shields and spears and wearing Corinthian-type helmets. On her head she has an Attic-type helmet with tall crest. She holds her spear in her right hand while with the left she extends her aegis. Behind her can be seen a low altar. On the scene’s upper part is the pseudo-inscription “ΣΤΟΣΤΟΣ ΛΤΟΣΤΙΣΤΙ”. Thin bands define the scene while the vessel’s shoulder is decorated with two lions ready to attack each other.
