Intact lamp in the form of the god-healer Telesphoros. It was found in 1957 in the east Roman cistern on the south slope of the Acropolis.

The god is represented as a child wrapped in a long cloak with a hood that falls over his back. He stands on a cylindrical base from which projects the nozzle. At the back, beneath the filling-hole, protrudes a solid rectangular handle. The lamp covers brown-red paint and the surface bears fire traces.

Telesphoros figurine lamps were usually placed in children’s rooms so that their good health would be secured.
