Lamp with erotic scene in relief mended from many fragments. Its handle and nozzle are broken. It was found in 1957 in the east Roman cistern on the south slope of the Acropolis.

Its base is flat, the body short with walls that curve inwards and one vertical handle. The lamp shoulder adorns a rope pattern and on the disk depicted is the erotic encounter of a couple on a bed with a canopy. On the base’s underside, framed with concentric circles, the inscription ΕΛΠΙΔΗΦΟΡΟΥ stands for the workshop in which the lamp was made.
