Handmade jar found intact in 1965 in a well on the Acropolis west slope, close to the Beulé gate.

Its base is ring-shaped through which four drills are opened. It has a globular body and narrow upright rim. The two holes in each of the two handle-projections on the vessel’s shoulder would have facilitated the pot’s suspension with a cord or rope. The exterior, as well as the inside of the rim, are burnished and covered in red slip.

The vessel was used for storing, transporting or serving solids or liquids.
