The head belongs to a figurine of Athena found during one of the Acropolis excavation campaigns, south of the Propylaia.

The goddess’ face is oblong, the eyes almond-shaped with heavy lids whereas the lips are full and the mouth half-open. She wears a Corinthian-type helmet with a hole on its top, in which a crest possibly fitted. Traces of white slip are retained on the figurine surface.
