Performance was a key element of ancient Greek culture. In the cult of Dionysos at the Acropolis, poets, actors, dancers, officials, procession followers/ participants and spectators all contributed, each in their own way, in unique types of performance. Visitors will come into contact with the world of these performances, the equipment they used, the places they were held, and their political and social significance, through the Museum’s exhibits, ancient sources, and the view of the south side of the Acropolis.

Participation:  Limited to 30 visitors per session. For registration, please refer to the Information Desk at the Museum entrance on the same day. The gallery talk is free of charge. Only the admission fee to the permanent exhibition is required (5 euros).
