Four historical eras at the Acropolis Museum

How can artifacts reflect the use and the importance of an emblematic place, the Athenian Acropolis, during a specific historical period? What can they tell us about ancient Athens and the Athenians? What was happening in parallel, worldwide and at the same era?

Every Saturday at 1 p.m. visitors come in contact with the way we nowadays comprehend the historical past through four historical eras:

  • "Early ages at the Acropolis Museum" (every first Saturday of the month)

  • "The 6th century B.C. at the Acropolis Museum"(every second Saturday of the month)

  • "The 5th century B.C. at the Acropolis Museum"(every third Saturday of the month)

  • "The Hellenistic period and the period of Imperial Rome at the Acropolis Museum" (every fourth and fifth Saturday of the month)

Visitors can continue their journey through time with the help of the videos projected on the third floor of the Museum.
