The dearness of water on every realm of life, from plain survival to the wider prosperity and growth, is unfathomable throughout the ages. Water constitutes a social commodity with cultural, political, religious and financial impacts, utterly intertwined with the history of mankind. Through the presentation of certain exhibits of the Acropolis Museum, which are parts of the permanent collections of the building and the archaeological excavation on its base, visitors can follow and grasp the display of the perception of water in antiquity, while all different aspects of water, and in particular the strong interconnection with the other precious commodity of wellness, are unravelled before them. The museum’s archaeologists will present to its visitors, through its artwork and the architectural remains of the excavation, the human agonies, beliefs, preconceptions but also answers and practical solutions for the attainment of welfare, through the prism of divine, human, personal and collective sectors within the context of the polis.
