Aphrodite and the Acropolis

The unusual presence of Aphrodite on the exhibits of the Acropolis Museum will unfold her multifaceted nature on the Sacred Rock. Aphrodite of the Gardens, of the Heavens, and Pandemos – of all the people – along with Eros and Peitho, Persuasion, plays a leading role in a discussion with the Archaeologist-Hosts on her place in ancient worship on the Acropolis and in the works of art that express it, and on her relationship with other “Aphrodites” of ancient Athens.
