Almost intact female protome that surmounts a plaque. It was found in 1957 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe. The face is elongated and the lips are raised at the corners in a smile whereas the hair covers part of the forehead. The surface preserves its white slip and red colour. Two suspension holes are opened in the plaque’s two upper corners.

Terracotta female protomes are usually encountered as offerings in public sanctuaries dedicated primarily to female deities; as ritualistic objects in domestic shrines; as objects with apotropaic or decorative character in private households and as grave offerings in women's and children's burials. Their interpretation is uncertain since they are sometimes considered depictions of deities and other times of mere mortals.
