Fragmentarily preserved female figurine found during one of the excavation campaigns conducted on the Acropolis.
The figure leaned slightly to the right. The asymmetrically arranged hair on one side coupled with one breast’s off-axis position show that the woman raised her right arm while lowering the left. She is draped in chiton seen only around the neck and over the shoulders and she possibly had over it her peplos girded around the waist with a narrow belt rendered in relief. The traces on the figurine’s back come from wings therefore the figure may well be Iris or a Nike. Holes for inlays or ancient repairs are also preserved on the neck.
The clothes and hair are highlighted with yellow, red and black colours, all significantly oxidized today.
