The Acropolis Museum, having completed its sixth year of operation, is launching a series of exhibitions presenting subjects of archaeological interest from throughout Greece. The aim of the series is to bring important archaeological finds from remote museums to Athens, where they can be more closely appreciated by a significantly larger local and foreign-visitor audience. The exhibition "Samothrace. The Mysteries of the Great Gods”, has been collaboratively organized by the Acropolis Museum, the Ephorates of Antiquities of Rodopi and Evros and Mr. Dimitris Matsas, a specialist on the antiquities of Samothrace. As part of the temporary exhibition on Samothrace’s mysteries, a one-day scientific conference is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 21 June, 2015, at 10 am, highlighting the results of recent archaeological studies conducted in Samothrace.
