Head of a ram from the decoration of the nozzle of a luxurious marble lamp. On the head’s upper surface there is a triangular cavity to receive the wick. The ram has its eyes placed on the sides of its head; the mouth and nostrils are rendered in a plain way; the ears are small and pointy, and the horns twist backwards.

The intense burn marks on the marble’s surface were possibly a result of the Acropolis' torching by the Persians in 480 BC. This ram head probably comes from the same lamp as Ακρ. 225.
