Bibliography

Joined doll (plaggona) wearing a short chiton and having a high polos on the head. Her hair forms locks that frame her forehead. The arms and legs were joined to the torso with string or wire and thus were movable. White slip is preserved all over the surface.

Plaggones were used variously: they were children toys, burial offerings deposited at children and female graves, sanctuary dedications or apotropaic symbols.
