Part of a loutrophoros decorated in the red-figure technique. It was found in 1957 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments and was reassembled.

It depicts a wedding scene either of the bride getting ready for the wedding, or from the epavlia. The bride, seated on a chair, admires a decorated loutrophoros-hydria placed on her knees. Inside the vessel green branches have been placed symbolising the prosperity which will accompany married life. A woman in front of her decorates the large vase while another one behind her holds a blossom and a white fruit. The blossom, most likely, is a romantic reference to the newlyweds’ union and the fruit is reminiscent of the fruit the couple ate during the first night of the wedding which symbolises happiness in their union.

On the upper part of the depiction only three letters have survived from the etched inscription: ΗΙΕ[ΡΑ] that probably state that the vessel was sacred, belonging to the Nymph.
