Part of a loutrophoros' body decorated in the red-figure technique. It was found in 1957 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments and was pieced together.

It presents a wedding scene. The groom, recognized by a band in his hair, stands in the centre turning his head towards a woman. Most likely she is the bride, whose downcast eyes highlight her modesty. This could be the scene that depicts the first time the couple looks at each other, since the bride has her face uncovered meaning that the removal of her wedding veil has already occurred. The young man holds her by the wrist to lead her away, a gesture typical of the wedding ceremony that signifies that the woman’s guardianship passes from her father to her husband.
