Part of a loutrophoros' body decorated in the red-figure technique. It was found in fragments in 1955 and 1957 at the Sanctuary of the Nymphe and was pieced together.

It depicts a wedding scene. In the centre stands the groom crowned with a wreath. He is looking in the eyes a woman offering him a flower, perhaps a romantic reference to the newlyweds’ union which will follow. This could be the first time the couple stares at each other after the bride revealed her face by removing her veil. A second woman standing behind the groom can be identified as his mother who welcomes her daughter-in-law holding a torch lit from her family hearth.
