Part of a loutrophoros-hydria decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments and was pieced together.

On the neck of the vase a procession of five women, clad in peplos and himation, is depicted. On the vase’s body, on one side, there are two sitting Sphinxes while on the other, two clumsily rendered men wearing himatia. Beneath the handles birds and an upside down lotus calyx are depicted. The remaining space is filled with dots, the lower part of the body encircles a wide black band and rays, and the base is covered with black paint. The uneven colouring of the base and other parts of the vessel is due to the firing conditions in the ceramic kiln.
