Due to the adventures of the monument, preserved are only a few fragments from the pediments of the Temple of Athena Nike, which makes the identification of their subjects uncertain. It has been suggested that the east pediment featured the Gigantomachy and the west the Amazonomachy.

Head of Athena which preserves also part of the neck. The upper right part of the head, eye and ear are missing. According to the asymmetrical features of her face, the goddess raises her head turning to the right. She wears an Attic-type helmet with raised cheek pieces and possibly gold plated bronze side crest that fitted into the surviving double holes. Athena as a goddess of victory may have led the Olympian gods' fight against the Giants. Her head’s intense movement would have been complemented by the stormy move of her body.
