Due to the adventures of the monument, preserved are only a few fragments from the pediments of the Temple of Athena Nike, which makes the identification of their subjects uncertain. It has been suggested that the east pediment featured the Gigantomachy and the west the Amazonomachy.

The fragment comes from the right foot of a man and preserves part of the ankle whereas the toes are missing. The figure most possibly wears sandal with the sole visible only along the foot’s outer contour. In contast to the outer side, the inner side of the foot is half-worked indicating that it was placed against another surface. The heel is slightly raised, maybe because the man was shown in motion.
