Due to the adventures of the monument, preserved are only a few fragments from the pediments of the Temple of Athena Nike, which makes the identification of their subjects uncertain. It has been suggested that the east pediment featured the Gigantomachy and the west the Amazonomachy.

The fragment represents a male right foot that preserves also the ankle and steps on a thin plinth. The drill opened in the plinth facilitated the attachment of the figure on the pediment’s cornice.

The foot is shod in a sandal with fine sole and straps once rendered in colour. Even though the foot was fully worked, part of its right side has been cut so that the figure would fit the pediment space.
