The brutal battle between the Centaurs and Lapiths, a group of people who lived in Thessaly. It erupted during the wedding feast of the king of Thessaly Peirithoos, when some of the invited Centaurs became drunk and tried to abduct the Lapith women. Lapiths won the battle and forced the Centaurs away from Pelion.
