The Museum’s ground floor gift store offers an extensive range of goods: ceramics, personal products, silk scarves for men and women, jewelry, stationery and postcards and children’s activities. There’s something for every visitor that wants to purchase a lasting memory of their visit to the Acropolis Museum.
The second-floor bookstore offers titles in a range of languages, including, of course, the Museum’s official guide book, books on mythology and history of the Acropolis, coffee table books and a large range of children’s activity, myth and storybooks focusing on the Acropolis, ancient Athens and ancient Greece.
Every product in the Museum’s gift shop is inspired by or is associated with one of the Museum exhibits or the Museum itself. Visitors can retain a part of their experience in the galleries by having a tangible memento of their favorite exhibit – or even gallery in the Museum. And of course, products and their packaging are designed exclusively for the Acropolis Museum, with the Museum the exclusive outlet.
Pride of place in the Museum gift and book shops are the precise reproductions of Museum exhibits, including scaled replicas which are easy to carry. Produced in the Museum’s workshops, the moulds for each hand made cast are also the product of conservators, the very same skilled people that tend to the conservation of the exhibits in the Museum. Packaged safely in their branded silver embossed black boxes, these precise copies give visitors the closest thing to having part of the Museum in their home or a unique gift to their loved ones.
